Payment Methods GO Taxi Accepts
GO supports a wide range of payment methods. The main options are these.
- GO Pay (in-app payment): Register a credit card or d Barai (docomo's carrier payment service) and skip paying in the car entirely
- Credit and debit cards: Visa, Mastercard, JCB, and American Express are supported
- d Barai: Pay while earning d POINT (the docomo rewards program)
- In-car payment: Cash, transit IC cards such as Suica, QR code payments, and other methods accepted inside the taxi itself
The breadth of options is one of GO's strengths. That said, GO Pay brings perks the others do not, such as automatic coupon application and d POINT integration, so set up GO Pay if you can.
Choosing the Most Rewarding Way to Pay
Set up d Barai inside GO Pay and you earn d POINT on every ride. Combine it with a d CARD GOLD and you collect the card's own points at the same time, maximizing your overall return.
GO Pay also means there is nothing to do at drop-off: no fumbling for payment, just step out. For business riders, electronic receipts are issued automatically, which takes the pain out of expense reports. Weigh these perks that cash simply cannot match, and configuring GO Pay is essentially a must.

GO Pay and in-car payment each have their place. GO Pay wins on convenience and value: automatic coupon application, d POINT integration, and no payment step at drop-off. In-car payment is handy when you want to pay in ways GO Pay cannot register, such as cash or a transit IC card.
The rational setup is GO Pay as your main method, with in-car payment as the fallback for the moments GO Pay fails you (an over-limit card, a system maintenance window, and so on). Register several cards in GO Pay and even a dead main card will not stop the ride; the backup card picks up the charge.
How to Change or Add Payment Methods
You can add or change payment methods anytime under Settings and then Payment Methods in the app. Adding a new card to GO Pay takes nothing more than the card number, expiration date, and security code. Linking d Barai is done the moment you log in with your d account.
Card updates happen on the same screen. When your credit card is renewed, remember to update the details in the app as well; an expired card left on file is a classic cause of payment errors at ride time. A periodic glance at your card details keeps everything running smoothly.
Business Use and Faster Expense Reports
GO also works well for corporate and business use. Electronic receipts can be downloaded from your ride history at any time, which eliminates filing and storing paper receipts. Choose the fixed upfront fare and the exact amount is known before you ride, which keeps pre-approval processes for expenses moving.
The key to faster expense reports is the ride history itself. The GO app records the date and time, pickup point, drop-off point, and amount for every ride, so the data for month-end expense filing is already complete and accurate. Pay through GO Pay and the payment records stay in the app too, making reconciliation against your credit card statement painless. For anyone who rides taxis regularly for work, GO's expense-friendly records translate directly into saved admin time.
